Welcome Post

Hi my name is Alexandra Adjei, sixteen years of age and a sixth former who is currently studying English Literature, Business Studies, Philosophy and ethics and Media and film studies.

Most people are not opened to or do not listen to this kind of music as much but i like it because it is different. My music interest includes kpop or pop. I like kpop because their songs are really well composed along with the lyrics and their music video productions are off the roof

The music video above is from one of my favorite groups in Korean called BTS who recently won a Billboard Music Award making them the first ever Korean group to do so. By watching this video you can tell by the cinematography that the music video is well produced. At first glance, one would think its the opening of a film and not a music video. This one of the things i love about this group is that they always have a story behind their songs and music video that fans have even come up with possible theories. I used to like American pop but discovering BTS made me think differently about American music because they do not normally put effort in their music video nor talk about social issues that much but BTS has touched on social issues like suicide, bullying and politics.

one may ask why do you listen to this kind of music when you do not understand it. There are subtitles available and i have been watching KDramas since 2014 so i know how to speak a little bit of Korean and understand it. But music is not about language its a bout reaching to the audience and relating to them

This another music video from BTS which is called Blood Sweat and Tears this is a song based on the book Demian by Hermann Hesse which makes the video really artsy. The music video is based on temptation of youth as it has elements of the apple from the original sin(the fall) and a scene which looks like the last supper.

I really like this song because the music video was filmed all in one take which makes it a simple video and the music has an EDM vibe to it which i really like.

Apart from kpop i also like singers like Charlie Puth, Shawn Mendes, Beyonce and Rihanna

I love the beat that comes with this song because the message that comes with the song fits perfectly with the beat and because she's touching on things like female empowerment. I like to listen to songs with good messages and not talking about drugs and other things that do not contribute positively to society.

I love the drums in this song and the way it starts of with the humming which makes it soothing.

This is the end of my blog thank you for reading till this far
